MDOT Public Meeting – 2013 Grand River Improvements Project
MDOT has announced a public open house meeting to discuss improvements to M-43 (Grand River Avenue) between Coolidge Road and Park Lake Road, and to Michigan Avenue between Harrison Road and M-43.

Park Lake and Burcham intersection 2012 Roundabout
A number of residents in the Wardcliff neighborhood have had questions about the upcoming construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Park Lake Road and Burcham Drive. Below is information posted on the Ingham County Road Commission website. Meridian township staff has confirmed that construction on the roundabout will begin on June 11, 2012 and that the intersection will be closed to through traffic all summer. Excavation by the city of East Lansing to move water lines that pass through the construction site has already begun.
Park Lake Road & Burcham Drive Intersection
Installation of a modern roundabout to replace the conventional stop controlled intersection. Meridian Charter Township. Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) and ICRC funding. Estimated Cost: $670,000. Construction of the roundabout is anticipated to occur during the 2012 school recess – June through August. Traffic will be detoured around the project site. The project was let in December and the successful bidder was CL Trucking & Excavating, LLC for $672,701.50. ICRC is partnering with City of East Lansing and the East Lansing – Meridian Water & Sewer Authority, which has watermain work in the intersection. The watermain work is anticipated to begin sometime in late March or early April.

Haslett Road – Park Lake Road to Shaw Street 2012
Haslett Road – Park Lake Road to Shaw Street Meridian Charter Township. Federal Urban STP and ICRC funding. Estimated Cost: $1,230,000. Rehabilitate the existing asphalt roadway, improve drainage, and resurface the roadway. The construction will be performed in phases. The active work zones for each phase will open to local traffic only. Through traffic will be prohibited. The project was originally scheduled for construction in 2013. MDOT and Meridian Township requested that we move the project to 2012 because of its condition and to use Haslett Road as a detour for MDOT’s 2013 Grand River Avenue – Orchard Street to Park Lake Road project. The project is scheduled for a June letting. Construction is anticipated to start in July and extend through mid-November.
