Recognizing and Honoring Meridian Township Police Officer Gayelord Mankowski
Gayelord has been a police officer with the Meridian Township Police since 1990. He served as our neighborhood and community officer, working closely with Wardcliff School principal and staff. He was not just a police officer. Gayelord was a friend and confidant. He was a weekly visitor to the school, knew all the children in the neighborhood and helped the most vulnerable families. He organized police and firefighters to sponsor two events for students of Wardcliff-the winter gifting to students and the in the summer a hot dog and ice cream event.
