Community Conversations at Okemos Library

The series of “Community Conversations”, sponsored by the Friends of Okemos Library, is continuing at the Okemos Library. The intent is to bring interesting local “experts” together with the community to engage in conversation.  The conversations begin at 7:00 p.m.  Light refreshments are provided.

Thursday, May 7, 2015 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Capture the Sun, presented by John Sarver from the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association. Hear about solar, wind and other renewable energy sources. Refreshments provided.

Wednesday June 3, 2015 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

What’s Buzzing with Bees, presented by Rufus Isaacs, Professor & Extension Specialist, MSU Department of Entomology. Learn about all things bees, including their importance to food production, and the effect of colony collapse on agriculture. Refreshments provided.

Thursday July 2, 2015 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Working Bugs, presented by Ingham County Commissioner and local business owner Diane Holman. She will discuss creating bio-fuels that replace fossil fuels. Refreshments provided.
